No. We operate on a "post-sale" model β€” all photography, marketing, insurance, transportation, and cataloguing costs are borne by Heritage Global. You pay commission only when your item sells.
How is the reserve price set?
The reserve is agreed between you and your specialist. Our experts provide guidance based on recent comparable sales, market conditions, and category trends. The reserve is the minimum hammer price we will accept.
What happens if my item doesn't sell?
Unsold items are stored free of charge for 60 days. During that period, we can re-offer it in a future sale or arrange return shipment with full insurance coverage at no cost to you.
What's the commission rate?
Seller's commission ranges from 8% – 15% of hammer price, depending on category, value tier, and consignment history. Your specialist provides a precise quote at the contract stage. There are no hidden costs.
How is authenticity handled?
Every lot is reviewed by our specialists pre-sale. Where appropriate, independent third-party authentication (e.g. major museums or recognized scientific labs) is commissioned. Each lot includes a clear condition report.
Do you accept items from outside your office countries?
Absolutely. We have dedicated fine art logistics teams in 87 countries. We arrange door-to-door pickup, customs clearance, climate-controlled transport, and full insurance β€” wherever you are.
